A Little About Me:
Greetings! My name is Kate Johnmeyer Stone and I've been teaching since the fall of 2006. In my spare time I read (a lot), run (quite a bit) and bike (some). My husband and I live in Columbia, Missouri where we spend our time hanging out with our son, playing with our dogs, fixing up our house, and competing in various running events (mainly 5k and half-marathons, hopefully with a marathon on the horizon!).
My Education:
I graduated from Fayette High School (home of the Falcons) in 2001. After graduation I attended Truman State University, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and finally graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia in December of 2005.
After graduation I worked for Chilhowee R-IV school district for one year before moving to Hermann. After teaching for five years at Hermann High School I'm now teaching dual-credit ITV and online courses for Central Methodist University while also working for Weight Watchers and spending time with my kiddo. I completed my master's degree in English from National University online in December of 2014.
In 2011 I finished two years of eMINTS comprehensive training. eMINTS is a program run through the University of Missouri - Columbia. The purpose of eMINTS is to help students use higher order thinking skills while applying that knowledge to real world applications. I enjoyed sharing my new found knowledge about technology with the students at HHS as well as presenting at the eMINTS Conferences in both 2011 and 2012.
