ReporterAs a reporter your job is to research the Russian Revolution and present the information to your group in the form of a podcast or video podcast that would have occurred (had they had such technology) during the Russian Revolution. Your audio/video podcast needs to include at least 4 different types of reporting, you may choose from the following:
- news article (reporting on an event that has a major impact on readers) - editorial (an article stating opinions or giving perspectives) - feature article (a special article) - opinion piece (ex: letter to the editor) - commercial (that would have been played during a break during this time period) To keep track of the information you find on the Russian Revolution and organize it for the separate parts of your podcast, you may find it useful to use the Hot Off the Press! organizer. STEP ONE: Research the Russian Revolution: STEP TWO: Research the Secret Police and KGB: STEP THREE: Research Soviet Propaganda STEP FOUR: After researching the Russian Revolution, Secret Police, and Propaganda you will need to begin creating your podcast. You will need to keep in mind the following criteria when planning your podcasts: - length - what different formats of news reporting you will use - writing out a script (so you don't stumble over your words) - addressing the 5 W's (see rubric for more information) - creativity & catchiness (remember, you need to get and keep your audience's attention!)
